I cofounded Women On Screenwith Farah Merani, Ciara Murphy and Natalie Lisinska four years ago to advocate for a greater representation of women in the entertainment industry.

A lot of our work has been focused on breaking down barriers in the creative process - encouraging and training female-identifying writers to contribute female-driven narratives to the landscape, moderating panels with female directors, producers, and cinematographers as a means of inspiring and educating women on the possible careers in our industry, and hosting networking events so women can connect with one another and forge professional relationships.

We are in the middle of a huge moment right now. For us, this year has further solidified the need for women to tell their own stories, for the creation of female characters with agency, complexity and strength, and for the amplified presence and voices of women on all sides of the camera.
